One of the specialty dining options that the website features is the Chef’s Table. We experienced the Chef’s Table once during the 12-day cruise. The $190 bill at the end of the complimentary specialty dining was a surprise. It took most of the remaining cruise to get Azamara to back off their demand that we pay for the Chef’s Table which the website claimed was included in the complimentary specialty dining. They eventually did back off; but, the experience was less than satisfying.

There is a sauna in the changing rooms; a separate plunge pool and sun deck are reserved for guests in premium cabins. A personal trainer is on hand in the fitness center, and there are also several yoga and fitness classes on offer throughout the cruise. While I didn’t work out often, the windows provided motivation to burn some calories, especially on the sea days. Taking a peek into the suite categories on another hallway, I noticed a more modern sensibility. Premium cabins and suites enjoy butler service and other bonuses like afternoon tea brought via trolley to the room each day, complimentary laundry and minibar options, and larger bathrooms with tubs. For those who want more space and appreciate modern design, these are a good choice.

Masks are still warn moving around the ship and by all of the staff all of the time. The food was great, we didn't have the premium drinks package and was very happy with what was provided. Azamara are a nightmare company to deal with, particularly at the moment. We had a nightmarish time for months before we boarded and not only were we ill with a gastric problem on board, but they refused to honour our 400USD on board credit.

We otherwise would not have selected it because we have been to Athens before, and my husband teaches so he would have to get special permission to take a vacation in Sept (as opposed to the summer) and find someone to cover his classes.
Yes the ship is in need of some TLC as it has clearly not been refurbished for several years, but the staff does a great job of keeping it clean and always with a smile. Finally the professionalism of the officers was evident and every facet of the cruise was seamlessly organized.A major downfall lies in the external excursions. They were more often then not poorly led and that reflects badly on Azamara. In our case we even cancelled a $500 Flamenco night in Barcelona with Tapas as the prior one also with Tapas was just so awful.

The entertainment was a standout especially as regards the external talent. The Azamara troupe was full of xing but not always great individual singing talent. That said...as a troupe they were just fine and the Cruise Directors excellent.
The staff on the ship is also remarkable and develop unique relationships with the guests, which I was fortunate to experience firsthand.
